For the correction of important refraction defects it is possible to carry out the implantation of a particular soft lens which is placed in contact with the crystalline lens (ICL: Implantable Collamer Lens).
This intervention does not present retinal risks of the crystalline substitution at all, and is recommended for myopias up to about 18 diopters or high hypermetropias.
