Fluorescein Angiography (FA) Retinal is an ophthalmic diagnostic test that allows for the careful study of blood vessels of the retina and the choroid.

It is performed by injecting a contrast agent called fluorescein into a vein.

Through this examination it is possible to highlight the non-sprayed areas (ischemic) and any lesions caused by the retinal neovascularization.

It is an exam that involves ocular dilation through eye drops and lasts a total of about 20 minutes.

This examination must be carried out on an empty stomach (at least 5 hours) and the possibile presence of allergies to the contrast agent must be ascertained.
